Sarah Vaughan beganplaying piano and singing in Newark, NJ clubs as a teenager in the early 40s.  By the late 40s, she was a singing star performing with Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker earning her the title of Queen of Bebop.   By the end of her 45 year long career, she was considered a major influence on jazz vocalists. This online progam will illustrate her career with videos, pictures and recordings.
